The Alpine Haus is a surprisingly nice restaurant in a town full of people who have just gotten off the river, but it’s a real treat with some of the best, authentic German food in town!

Schlitterbahn is just incredible! You get two great parks for one ticket, although either park would take you an entire day to explore! Click HERE for more information! Raise your hood and they will come give you a jump, but in my experience, the battery always dies at the climactic ending, leaving you wondering what happened! You can’t sit with your car idleing, and you’re going to have a dead battery after 2 hours. Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome! PLEASE pick up after them!īring a radio and speaker. Your tailgate cannot exceed the top of your car, so bring something to tie it down, if necessary. Outside food and drinks are allowed, alcohol and glass are not. While thanks to my son, we ate a little of everything at the concession stand, one of the things I love about the Stars and Stripes is that unlike most Drive Ins, they allow you to bring in an ice chest filled with drinks (no alcohol or glass) and munchies! Keep in mind that they make very little from the sale of tickets, so hit up that concession stand, too! I love these cute little cars that their kids meals come in! The concession area was big, clean and had a great assortment of food! While I was taking pictures, I sent my 18-year-old up to get some food and drinks with my credit card, and he came back with everything except the popcorn! It’s nice to bring while waiting for the sun to go down!įor the best time, do not plan to sit in your car, unless you have a cool convertible! Everyone around us had a truck with an air mattress in the bed and tons of pillows! We brought our camp type chairs and our new Air Couch which everyone fought over! We ended up taking turns, and it’s really a great way to watch a movie!Īt the concession area, there is a fun playground and shaded picnic tables!Īfter the sun goes down, this area is lit up!

Years of going to the Drive In have taught me a few things, and for me, I’m a big believer that the Drive In isn’t just a movie, it’s an entire experience! I always get there early to get a great parking space, plus there are usually no lines at the concession area!Īrriving early means bringing things for the kids to do, so I always pack a football, some bubbles and maybe even a game! The Stars and Stripes Drive In is located just a few minutes from the River Attractions in New Braunfels! I’m a huge Drive In Movie fan! Drive In Movie Theaters are my favorite way to watch a movie! And I love summer evenings, after the sun goes down and the moon is just lifting above the horizon, offering a sky full of stars! The wind begins to pick up, giving a nice breeze to the evening and it’s just my favorite time of the year!
